Page Modifications - 5th of April 2010

Last week, we saw a increase of one position but not very stable so I have decided to change some things in my source code, such as the HTML tags. I have been using the tags such as

<div class=h2> and <div class=h3>

I have changed it to <h2> and <h3> which is the correct markup language that should be used. For the true semantic web, which Google actually ranks higher I have been making the web page more semantic.

In the .htaccess files I have changed the file names from ending with .html to just be the simple keyword. Although the URL doesn't carry as much weight as it used to SEO wise it still carries some. So instead of having a link like this http://www.brunoseo.com/Twitter.html we have them with http://www.brunoseo.com/Twitter. I know this doesn't seem like a huge difference but it can help the rankings. And we should never only optimise a web page half through. Since we are optimizing the bits and pieces that are left to optimize we will do the full optimisation.

SEO is all about seeing who is top ranked and figure out the reason for it. I can see that in Ben Syke's website he is using a RDF file in his source to indicate that his website is safe to be seen by people of any age and contains no sexual material. So I have decided to implement the same RDF in my website.
